She married in 1966 and moved to Maine permanently in 1969. She continues to maintain a summer home in Vinalhaven. The creative process has always been a major force in Hara’s life as has been her need to be on or near the ocean. Although Hara was originally primarily a printmaker and oil painter, she has renewed passions for pastel, watercolor and clay, both as a sculptor and a potter. She continues to be intrigued by the human form and works often from the live model. Hara experiences great beauty, peace and joy in her natural surroundings and journeys to her heart’s source with depth of vision and bold, powerful expression. She portrays her visual and spiritual experience of color, form, and light with vitality and passion. hmharding@roadrunner.com |
